Thyroid eye disease (TED) is one of the most common orbital diseases in adults. The common symptoms include exophthalmos, eyelid retraction, eye position deviation, eye movement disorder, which seriously affect the appearance and quality of life. The severe complications such as exposure keratitis and compressive optic neuropathy can cause visual acuity decline and even blindness. Therefore, it is necessary to standardize and individualize the diagnosis and treatment strategy. The Thyroid Eye Disease Center will provide more convenient and efficient medical support for TED patients.

Our team is one of the earliest teams to carry out the clinical and fundamental research of TED in China. After nearly a decade of development, Professor Qian Jiang has continuously improved the standardized diagnosis and treatment strategy of TED in China. He adheres to the concept of accurate and individualized treatment, pursues the treatment effect of small incision and minimally invasive, and maximizes the improvement of visual function and appearance. Professor Qian Jiang, together with his team, has reported the treatment achievements of TED in various international conferences and has been highly praised by experts at home and abroad.

Our team has published nearly 20 SCI articles related to TED, obtained 5 grants supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Shanghai Natural Science Foundation, and has applied for 2 patents of diagnosis and treatment strategy in the field of TED. Our team has received strong support from ophthalmology department, endocrinology department and radiotherapy department of Changzheng Hospital, Huashan Hospital, Ruijin Hospital, Longhua Hospital, Shanghai General Hospital and Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, so as to escort multidisciplinary consultation and personalized treatment of TED patients.
